Mayor Kim Kyungil: "Leading Administrative Innovation with AI Work Assistant... Creating Administration Citizens Can Experience"
Paju City Pilots "AI Work Assistant" Service
A First Step Toward Administrative Innovation, from AI Document Drafting to Civil Complaint Response
Priority Accounts Issued to 350 Employees Who Completed AI Training
Goal to Achieve Full Administrative Innovation for All Employees by 2026
Paju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on October 22 that it will pilot an artificial intelligence (AI)-based "work assistant" service to accelerate the digital transformation of administration and maximize work efficiency. This is expected to mark the first step in the city's AI-driven administrative innovation initiative.
For this pilot program, 350 employees who have completed AI utilization training will be issued "work assistant" accounts, and the effectiveness of the service will be verified in real administrative settings.
Through this project, the city aims to establish a foundation enabling each public official to use AI as a competent administrative partner. Starting in 2026, the city plans to expand the rollout of generative AI services to all employees, thereby completing an AI administrative support system that overcomes the limitations of time and space.
The service is powered by leading large language models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude. This will allow employees to flexibly leverage AI for a variety of administrative tasks, including document drafting, research, and responding to civil complaints.
In addition, the city plans to sequentially develop and implement "specialized AI agents" tailored to specific administrative needs, such as legal affairs, accounting, budgeting, and administrative services. This is expected to significantly enhance the professionalism and speed of administration and greatly contribute to automating simple, repetitive tasks.
