Emerging as the Capital of Esports... BNK Financial Group Supports BNK FEARX
Regional Financial Group Leads the Way in Making Busan the Capital of Esports
Reflecting Government Policies to Revitalize the Esports Industry
Which city is the capital of esports? The symbolic team of esports remains strong in Busan.
BNK Financial Group (Chairman Byun Daein) proudly announced that BNK FEARX, the Busan-based esports team, has been winning major domestic and international leagues in the 2025 season.
In May 2024, BNK Financial became the first regional financial group to sign a naming sponsorship with BNK FEARX, a Busan-based team, and has continued to support the team as its main sponsor. The group is actively participating in the government's esports industry revitalization policy and Busan Metropolitan City's vision to become the "capital of esports," further strengthening its support for the local franchise.
In September, BNK FEARX achieved its first championship since its founding in the 2025 LCK Challengers League (CL), the official League of Legends secondary league. Starting from fourth place in the regular season, the BNK youth team made a dramatic comeback through the losers' bracket, defeating Gen.G Global Academy, DRX Challengers, T1 Academy, and KT Challengers in succession to complete what is being called a "miracle run." The finals MVP was the support player "Career," Oh Hyungseok.
Following this, in October, BNK FEARX achieved another milestone by winning its first international tournament at the "2025 Asia Showdown Invitational (ASI)," an international esports event organized by Tianjing Sports in China.
In the finals, BNK FEARX secured victory over Dplus KIA (DK) after a full-set battle, with the AD carry "Diable," Nam Daekeun, being named finals MVP. BNK FEARX is making a name for itself on the international stage with its teamwork-based play.
Additionally, on October 19, BNK FEARX held its first official fan meeting, "After School Fox Club," at the Busan Esports Arena, providing an opportunity to share the joy of their international tournament victory with Busan citizens and fans.
BNK Financial Group continues to provide various forms of support to foster esports as a core industry for Busan’s future and as a center of youth culture. Going forward, the group plans to host regional esports tournaments, youth academies, and global exchange events in partnership with BNK FEARX.
