It aims to showcase the Army's vision for advanced dronebot and manned-unmanned integrated combat systems to the public, while promoting the development of Korea's drone industry through collaboration between the private sector, government, and military.
This year, Gyeonggi Province is co-hosting the festival, with the United States Forces Korea also participating, further expanding its scale and significance. By allowing the public to directly experience drones and robots-now central to modern warfare-the event is expected to strengthen public trust in the military's advanced science and technology.
The festival will kick off with an opening ceremony on October 31, followed by three days of events, including demonstrations of dronebot combat systems, military flight demonstrations and celebratory flights, a motorcycle parade, exhibitions and hands-on experiences with advanced equipment, competitions, and development seminars.
Additionally, a variety of experience and exhibition booths will be available, such as Surion helicopter and armored vehicle boarding experiences, drone sports, VR rhythm games, and assembling 3D military equipment puzzles.
Notably, on the evenings of October 31 and November 1, a civil-military harmony concert and a drone light show will add to the autumn night’s charm. There will also be a 20% cashback event for the Yangju Love Card linked to the Gwangjeok-myeon commercial district, which is expected to provide a significant boost to the local economy.
Furthermore, major defense and drone companies-including Hanwha Aerospace, Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI), LIG Nex1, and Doosan Mobility Innovation-will participate to showcase the latest technologies such as reconnaissance, strike, and hydrogen drones. Through the 'Civil-Military-Government Dronebot Development Seminar,' participants will share directions for the advancement of dronebot systems.
Yangju Mayor Kang Suhyeon stated, "We invite everyone to the 2025 Dronebot Festival, which returns with even more exciting and innovative programs," adding, "We will do our utmost to ensure this festival, with the participation of the private sector, government, and military, successfully contributes to the development of Korea’s drone industry and the revitalization of the local economy."
