LS Electric Unveils Next-Generation Ship Automation Solutions at KOMARINE 2025
Held at BEXCO, Busan from October 21 to 24
Comprehensive Coverage: Power Supply, Automation, and Cybersecurity
Certified by Nine Major Classification Societies
Presenting a 'Total Solution'
LS Electric announced on October 21 that it will participate in the "International Shipbuilding & Marine Industry Exhibition (KOMARINE 2025)," the world's largest exhibition for shipbuilding and marine equipment, which will be held at BEXCO in Busan from October 21 to 24.
LS Electric will participate under the slogan "To a Bigger World! To the Sea!" with a total of eight booths covering 72 square meters. The company will focus on presenting its "LS Ship Solution," highlighting ship automation solutions, cybersecurity solutions, and a modular drive prototype. LS Electric plans to showcase its "total automation solution," which connects propulsion, control, and protection systems on ships into a single integrated platform, aiming to demonstrate its technological capabilities in both domestic and international shipbuilding and marine markets.
First, the company will introduce its ship automation solutions, including PLCs, HMIs, and AC drives, all of which have received certification from nine major classification societies. These certifications have been granted by the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS) members: ABS (United States), BV (France), CCS (China), DNV (Norway/Germany), KR (Korea), LR (United Kingdom), NK (Japan), RINA (Italy), and RS (Russia). This means that LS Electric's ship-related equipment meets international safety and quality standards.
The company will also exhibit its industrial control system cybersecurity solution. Interest in cybersecurity within the shipbuilding industry has been growing steadily. In response, LS Electric will showcase a solution designed to comply with the common rules of international classification societies for ensuring cyber resilience in computer-based ship systems.
LS Electric will unveil its self-developed "modular drive" prototype for the first time. This is a power conversion device based on a 2MW-class power stack for electric propulsion systems in ships. It features an air-cooled design, a high-efficiency thermal control structure, and IGBT-based power conversion technology, enabling high output, high efficiency, and low-noise operation. This core technology was developed as part of a national project focused on developing core materials and components for 3,000-ton-class ship electric propulsion systems.
