"Gwangju Youth, Let Your Imaginations Soar"
Gwangju City to Host 'Youth Imagination Festival' at May 18 Democracy Square on the 25th
Youth-Led Performances, Hands-On Experiences, and Busking Among Festival Programs
Gwangju City announced on October 21 that the region's representative youth festival, the '2025 Gwangju Youth Imagination Festival,' will be held on October 25 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the area of the May 18 Democracy Square.
Hosted by Gwangju City and organized by the Gwangju Christian Youth Association, the '2025 Gwangju Youth Imagination Festival' marks its 12th anniversary this year. The festival is significant in that it is a 'youth-led' cultural event, planned and prepared directly by young people themselves.
This year's festival will feature a variety of programs reflecting trends of the digital era. On-site, there will be 25 experience booths, including a digital play zone, artificial intelligence (AI) art experiences, and keyring-making activities. Sixteen youth-related organizations from the region will participate, adding depth to the hands-on experiences.
The main stage of the festival will showcase diverse performances highlighting the talents of young people. The youth dance competition 'YOUTH DANCE' will provide a platform for dance teams with hidden talents to compete, while additional events such as youth band busking and a flash mob open to citizen participation will further enliven the festival atmosphere.
In addition, the pre-event performances starting at 3 p.m. will feature an inspiring stage by the youth musical club 'Harang' and a demonstration by the Yongin University Cheongmu Taekwondo demonstration team, raising anticipation.
