Korean Air announced on the 21st that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Archer Aviation, a leading U.S. urban air mobility company, to jointly develop a future air mobility (AAM) model.
The MOU signing ceremony was held the previous afternoon at the Seoul International Aerospace and Defense Exhibition (ADEX) 2025 venue. Key representatives from both companies, including Jin-Kyu Lim, Head of Aerospace Business Division at Korean Air, and Adam Goldstein, CEO of Archer Aviation, attended the event.
Through this agreement, the two companies have agreed to jointly develop models that can expand the application of AAM technology, starting with Archer's piloted electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft (eVTOL), "Midnight." The eVTOL models developed by the two companies will be primarily used for missions such as rapid supply of essential materials and personnel transportation.
Lim stated, "This agreement will serve as an important opportunity to proactively secure next-generation air mobility technologies not only for the private sector but also for the military and government."
