[Weather] Nationwide Morning Temperatures Drop Sharply... Rain in Parts of the East Coast and Yeongnam
On Tuesday, October 21, morning temperatures are expected to drop by around 5 degrees Celsius below the seasonal average, resulting in chilly weather nationwide. With winds also blowing somewhat strongly, the perceived temperature is forecast to feel even lower.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, as of 5 a.m. on this day, temperatures in major regions were as follows: Seoul 5.1°C, Incheon 5.5°C, Suwon 5.3°C, Chuncheon 7.6°C, Gangneung 10.3°C, Cheongju 10.3°C, Daejeon 9.8°C, Jeonju 9.9°C, Gwangju 11.7°C, Jeju 18.2°C, Daegu 12.6°C, Busan 15.5°C, Ulsan 13.4°C, and Changwon 14.4°C. The highest daytime temperatures are forecast to range between 13°C and 20°C.
Gangwon Yeongdong, the Gyeongsang region, and Jeju Island are expected to be mostly cloudy. Other regions will start out mostly cloudy but are expected to clear up from the morning. Rain is expected in Gangwon Yeongdong until the morning, and in the eastern coast of North Gyeongsang, Busan, and Ulsan until late at night. The expected precipitation is 5-10 mm in Gangwon Yeongdong, Busan, Ulsan, and the eastern coast of North Gyeongsang, and less than 5 mm in Ulleungdo and Dokdo.

Winds will be very strong and waves very high in most maritime areas. Wave heights are expected to reach 1.0-3.5 meters in the East Sea, 0.5-3.0 meters in the West Sea, and 0.5-2.5 meters in the South Sea. In the offshore areas (up to about 200 km from the coastline), wave heights may reach 1.0-4.0 meters in the East Sea and 1.5-4.0 meters in the West and South Seas, so caution is advised during navigation and fishing operations.
