[2025 Audit] Kim Dong-yeon: "Bus Fare Increase on the 25th Will Ease Management Burden"
Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon stated that, following the transition to the semi-public bus system with joint revenue management, it is not possible to provide additional support for the increased financial burden on cities and counties within the province. However, he added that the planned bus fare hike this month is expected to help improve the management of bus companies.
On October 20, during the National Assembly's Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee audit of Gyeonggi Province, Governor Kim responded to a question from Moon Jinseok, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, saying, "After the bus transportation system was converted to a semi-public model with joint revenue management, several cities and counties have requested adjustments to their financial contributions." He added, "Given the fiscal conditions of the cities and counties, I fully understand the requests for adjustments to the contributions."
