Five-Vehicle Chain-Reaction Crash in Gwangju Leaves Four with Minor Injuries
On the morning of October 20, near the construction site of Gwangju Metro Line 2 in Ilgok-dong, Buk-gu, Gwangju, a truck collided with a stationary vehicle, leading to a chain-reaction crash involving five vehicles. Four drivers sustained minor injuries and were transported to the hospital.
According to the police and fire authorities, at around 6:09 a.m. that day, a 25-ton truck driven by a 62-year-old man, identified as A, struck a 1-ton truck that was waiting at a signal on a one-way, single-lane road. The impact caused the 1-ton truck to crash into a taxi stopped in front, which in turn hit a passenger car, resulting in a series of collisions.
Four drivers who were in the affected vehicles suffered minor injuries, while A, who caused the initial accident, was not injured.

The police confirmed that A was neither under the influence of alcohol nor driving without a license. They are focusing on the possibility that failure to keep a proper lookout ahead was the cause and are conducting a thorough investigation into the exact circumstances of the accident.
