Cheongdo County Releases 40,000 Juvenile Crucian Carp and Bullhead Catfish into Palchiji
Leading the Preservation of Local Fishery Resources
and Revitalization of the Inland Water Industry
On October 16, Cheongdo County (Governor Kim Hasu) released 40,000 juvenile crucian carp and bullhead catfish into Palchiji, located in Anin-ri, Cheongdo-eup, to restore the inland water ecosystem and bolster local fishery resources.
This juvenile fish release was carried out in collaboration with the Gyeongsangbuk-do Fisheries Resources Research Institute Native Fish Industrialization Center. Local residents and relevant public officials participated directly in releasing the crucian carp and bullhead catfish, further emphasizing the significance of preserving the local ecosystem.
Cheongdo County has been continuously promoting juvenile fish release projects to increase inland fishery resources and create a healthy river ecosystem. For example, on September 8, the county also released about 40,000 juvenile crucian carp and carp into the Cheongdocheon area. Through these annual releases, the county is taking the lead in expanding aquatic resources in the region.

Kim Hasu, Governor of Cheongdo County, stated, "Through this juvenile fish release at Palchiji, I hope Cheongdo County's inland water environment will become richer and establish itself as a well-balanced public water body." He added, "We will continue juvenile fish release projects to preserve the region's fishery resources and invigorate the inland water industry."
