NEW ID Launches K-Content Channels in 17 Countries via Samsung TV Plus
Five Channels Including Drama, K-pop, Movies, and Kids
Free, Ad-Supported 'FAST' Service
Entertainment tech company NEW ID announced on October 17 that it will launch premium K-content channels in 17 countries worldwide through Samsung TV Plus. This move is expected to increase accessibility to K-content in the global market and further strengthen the partnership with Samsung TV Plus.
The newly launched channels include K-Drama+ (drama channel), NEW KPOP (K-pop channel), @K-MUSIC (main K-pop channel), NEW KMOVIES (movie channel), and BABY SHARK TV (kids channel), totaling five channels. The service regions cover North America, Europe, Asia, and Central and South America.
Samsung TV Plus is an ad-supported free streaming service (FAST: Free Ad-supported Streaming TV) that can be accessed on Samsung TVs and mobile devices without separate registration or subscription. NEW ID is expanding its position as a global K-content hub based on its technology-driven channel operations and monetization capabilities.
This expansion is expected to serve as a turning point, establishing the Korean-style FAST model as a competitive format in the global market. Park Junkyung, CEO of NEW ID, stated, "We have created an environment where both global K-fandom and local viewers can easily access Korean content."
