Korean Joint Pavilion Expands Genres with Webtoons, XR, and Card Games
Long Lines for Devsisters' Pre-Sale Event
The Korea Creative Content Agency successfully supported the entry of Korean Wave content IP into the North American market by operating a Korean joint pavilion at New York Comic Con held in New York, USA, from the 9th to the 12th.
원본보기 아이콘The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency announced on October 15 that they operated a Korean joint pavilion at New York Comic Con, held in New York, USA, from October 9 to October 12 (local time), resulting in thirty-five export consultation achievements.
Participating companies discussed product distribution and content intellectual property (IP) collaboration with North American buyers at the export consultation meetings. They also expanded contact points with buyers through the Korea Creative Content Agency's New York Business Center, building substantial business networks.
The Korean joint pavilion showcased the broadest range of K-content to date, expanding genres beyond comics and webtoons to include extended reality (XR), characters, and card games. Featured works included "Cookie Run: Bravers Card Game" by Devsisters, "Noble Restaurant" by Big House Entertainment, "X-Room" by Soul X, and "Another World Delusion Hunter" by AB Entertainment.
Over the four days, approximately 50,000 visitors attended. There was significant interest in experiential exhibitions utilizing Korean Wave IP, such as large photo zones, character merchandise displays, webtoon-based psychological tests, and XR experiences set in Korea. In particular, Devsisters held a pre-sale event for their booster pack one day before its official release, drawing long lines of trading card game (TCG) fans at the venue.
