Ko Jin-young, the 2021 champion, is seeking a comeback in Haenam, the southernmost village of Korea.
From October 16, the BMW Ladies Championship-the second event of the LPGA Tour’s fall Asian swing-will be held over four days at Pine Beach Golf Links in Haenam, South Jeolla Province (par 72, 6,785 yards). Ko is aiming for victory at this tournament, which features a field of 78 players competing without a cut. The total prize money is $2.3 million, with the winner taking home $345,000.

Ko Jin-young has been enduring a prolonged title drought. After securing her 15th career victory at the Cognizant Founders Cup in May 2023, she has gone two years and five months without a win. Once ranked world No. 1, she has now dropped to 18th.
Hot Picks Today
Frequent injuries have hampered her performance. This year, she has played in 18 events and finished in the top 10 only four times. Her best result was a runner-up finish at the Cognizant Founders Cup in February. Recently, she has failed to make the cut in two consecutive tournaments. Including the BMW Ladies Championship, only five events remain on the LPGA Tour this season. A first win of the year is desperately needed.
