Daejeon City Council Delegation Supports Daejeon Youth's Entry into Vietnamese Market

Attendance at the Opening Ceremony of the "Global Youth Innovation Marketers Competition"
The Daejeon City Council delegation is strengthening exchange and cooperation between the two cities by attending a business competition where young people from the Daejeon region compete in strategies for entering the Vietnamese market.
To this end, the Daejeon City Council visited Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from October 13 to 18, 2025. The delegation consisted of seven members, including Chairman Cho Wonhui, Vice Chairwoman Hwang Kyunga, Steering Committee Chairman Lee Hanyeong, Welfare and Environment Committee Chairman Lee Hyoseong, Education Committee Chairwoman Lee Geumseon, Daejeon-Chungnam Administrative Integration Special Committee Chairman Lee Jaekyung, and Education Committee Vice Chairwoman Kim Minsuk.
On October 13, the council delegation attended the opening ceremony of the "Global Youth Innovation Marketers Competition" held at the Caravelle Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City.
This competition, organized by the Daejeon University-Industry Cooperation Council as part of the Regional Innovation-led University Support System (RISE) project, is a business contest where young people from the Daejeon area compete with strategies to enter the Vietnamese market.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Daejeon City Council delegation, Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Chairman Vo Van Minh, Daedeok University President Kim Daesung, Daejeon University-Industry Cooperation Council Head Woo Seunghan, as well as approximately 150 university and corporate representatives from both countries.
In his congratulatory remarks, Chairman Cho Wonhui said, "Through this competition, I hope that the innovative ideas of our young people in Daejeon will combine with the excellent technological capabilities of local companies, enabling a powerful leap forward into the high-growth Vietnamese market."
He added, "The Daejeon City Council will continue to support the dreams and passion of young people and do its utmost to assist companies in their successful overseas expansion. I hope this event further strengthens the solid friendship and cooperative relationship between Daejeon and Vietnam."

The council delegation also plans to attend the closing ceremony on October 15 to encourage the participants and support the establishment of networks with local Vietnamese companies and universities.
