This webinar, themed "Challenges for Boards of Directors and Audit Committees in a New Environment: Risk, Virtual Assets, and AI Governance," aims to explore the roles of governance bodies and strategic response directions in a rapidly changing business environment. The event will consist of three sessions, with newly appointed advisory committee members and Deloitte Korea Group experts participating as speakers.
In the first session, Park Jongsung, Professor at the School of Business Administration at Sookmyung Women's University and an advisory committee member of the Center for Corporate Governance Development, will deliver a presentation titled "Corporate Risks and Governance Responses Seen Through Cases of Misconduct, Focusing on Experiences as a Member of the Securities and Futures Commission." The next session will feature Kim Kyungho, Head of the Digital Asset Center at Deloitte Korea Group, who will give a lecture on "Governance Responses and Supervisory Measures for Virtual Assets." Based on his corporate advisory experience, he will provide an overview of the regulatory environment for virtual assets and explain the major risks companies may face when holding virtual assets, as well as how to establish governance frameworks. He will also discuss the supervisory roles and implications for audit committees in this context.
In the final session, Kim Hakbum, Partner at the Management Consulting Division of Deloitte Korea Group, will present on "AI-Based Internal Control and Risk Management Innovation: The Evolution of Audit Committees and Building Responsible AI Governance." As the era of generative AI becomes mainstream, he will emphasize the importance of establishing systematic governance to effectively utilize AI in corporate settings. In particular, he will analyze the innovations and challenges that AI brings to audit committee roles and outline supervisory directions for audit committees in building responsible AI governance.
