The Gangwon Tourism Foundation (CEO Choi Sunghyun) announced on October 14 that it will host the Sokcho Port Cruise Festival (Festa) on October 18, coinciding with the arrival of Holland America Line's Westerdam. The event will take place at the Sokcho Port Cruise Terminal and the Abai Village beach area, targeting around 5,000 domestic and international tourists as well as local residents.

View original imageThis inaugural event is a regional win-win Sokcho cruise tourism festival, held in line with the cruise's arrival at 10 a.m. on the 18th. It is a festival where both domestic and international tourists, along with citizens, can enjoy together. At the event venue on the Abai Village beach near the cruise terminal, a variety of K-culture programs are prepared, including a children's cruise drawing contest, K-traditional game experiences, K-pop performances, and dalgona game activities.
Additionally, a local market operated directly by Sokcho small business owners will be available at the venue, offering a wide range of programs that everyone can enjoy, such as fan calligraphy workshops, traditional knot bracelet making, and a hanbok photo event. Furthermore, at 7:50 p.m., the festival's highlight will be a fireworks display set against the backdrop of the Sokcho sea, coinciding with the cruise's departure.
