The city has specialized sections 1 to 4 of Daewon Park, focusing on undeveloped park areas within Jungang-dong, Hadaewon-dong, and Seongnam-dong.
This marks the first major change in 53 years since the park was designated as a neighborhood park in 1972.
To achieve this, a total project cost of 15.5 billion won was invested over two years and six months, from March 2023 until recently.
Section 1 in Jungang-dong features a Morning Garden as a community activity space, a garden walking trail, a forest rest area, and a hydrangea garden.
Sections 2 and 3 in Hadaewon-dong include a new lawn square, a scenic waterfall, and a Reading Square. The existing plaza was remodeled to create a space with an outdoor stage and landscape lighting. The entrance was also improved, and the parking lot was expanded from 21 to 62 spaces.
Section 4 in Seongnam-dong now offers a Children's Forest Playground, a 250-meter barefoot walking path, and a 570-meter forest trail. At the top of the trail, a rest area and a 10-meter-high observatory have been installed.

Due to the large area of Daewon Park, the opening ceremony for the themed parks will be held in two parts at separate locations.
The first part of the opening event will take place at 4:00 p.m. on October 16 at the Children's Forest Playground (2872-1 Seongnam-dong, across from Seongnam Middle School). The second part will be held at 5:00 p.m. at the Reading Square (210-1 Hadaewon-dong, across from Jungwon Youth Center). Both events will be attended by Mayor Shin Sangjin and approximately 200 local residents.
