It is the first increase in six years since 2019. In line with Gyeonggi Province’s city bus fare hike, Seongnam City also reviewed fare adjustments to improve the management conditions of village buses and to ensure the smooth operation of the Metropolitan Area Integrated Transfer Discount System.
On July 31, Gyeonggi Province held a Consumer Policy Review Committee meeting and finalized a 200 to 400 won increase in city bus fares. Seongnam City also held its own Consumer Policy Review Committee in September and confirmed a 200 won increase in village bus fares.
As a result, based on transportation card payment: △ Standard city bus fares will increase from 1,450 won to 1,650 won for adults, from 1,010 won to 1,160 won for teenagers, and from 730 won to 830 won for children. △ Direct-seat and metropolitan express (M) bus fares will increase from 2,800 won to 3,200 won for adults, from 1,960 won to 2,300 won for teenagers, and from 1,400 won to 1,600 won for children. △ Gyeonggi circular bus fares will rise from 3,050 won to 3,450 won for adults, from 2,140 won to 2,420 won for teenagers, and from 1,530 won to 1,730 won for children. △ Village bus fares will increase from 1,350 won to 1,550 won for adults, from 950 won to 1,090 won for teenagers, and from 680 won to 780 won for children.
