Plenary Session Scheduled for Sunday to Avoid Overlapping with Audit Schedules

The ruling and opposition parties have agreed to convene a plenary session on October 26 to process 70 agenda items that have been agreed upon between the two sides. The Democratic Party of Korea will undergo internal discussions regarding demands for a parliamentary investigation into the National Information Resources Service and the Muan Airport disaster.

Speaker Woo Wonsik, Democratic Party Floor Leader Kim Byungki, and People Power Party Floor Leader Song Unseok reached this agreement after their meeting at the National Assembly earlier in the day.

Moon Jinseok, Deputy Chief of Floor Operations for the Democratic Party, stated, "Although we initially called for a plenary session on the 15th, considering the lawmakers' audit schedules, we decided to hold the plenary session at 4 p.m. on the 26th to table and pass the 70 agreed-upon agenda items." He also mentioned that, in response to the opposition's request during the meeting, the party has agreed to discuss the possibility of a parliamentary investigation into the National Information Resources Service and the Muan Airport disaster.

Yoo Sangbeom, Deputy Chief of Floor Operations for the People Power Party, explained, "Seventy-five bills are currently awaiting to be tabled at the plenary session. Of these, 70 have been processed through bipartisan agreement in the standing committees, while the remaining five were passed unilaterally by the Democratic Party. The status of these five bills will be determined through further discussions before being tabled."
