Cargo Trucks Collide in Hampyeong, Leaving One Dead and Two Injured
A man in his 70s, driving a cargo truck, died after colliding with another cargo truck ahead of him.
According to Hampyeong Police Station in South Jeolla Province on October 13, at around 8:21 a.m. the previous day, a 1-ton cargo truck driven by Mr. A (77) rear-ended another 1-ton cargo truck on a national highway in Singwang-myeon, Hampyeong County.
As a result of the accident, Mr. A sustained severe injuries and was transported to the hospital in cardiac arrest, but he died.
The driver and a passenger, both in their 70s, who were in the cargo truck ahead, suffered minor injuries and were also taken to the hospital.

The police believe that Mr. A caused the accident by failing to properly observe the road ahead on a straight section of the highway, and they are investigating the exact circumstances of the incident.
