[Exclusive] Police Arrest Man in His 50s Who Stabbed Acquaintance and Fled in Seocheon

Mr. A Refuses to Testify During Police Investigation
Victim Reported to Be in Stable Condition

A man in his 50s who stabbed an acquaintance with a weapon and fled in Seocheon, South Chungcheong Province, was apprehended by police in Gunsan, North Jeolla Province.

The victim fortunately is reported to be in stable condition, and police are focusing their investigation on the motive and circumstances behind the crime.

The Seocheon Police Station announced on October 9 that they had arrested and are investigating Mr. A (in his 50s) on suspicion of attempted murder after he stabbed his acquaintance, Mr. B (believed to be in his 60s), and fled the scene.

According to police, at around 4:05 p.m. on October 8, Mr. A allegedly stabbed Mr. B with a weapon on a roadside in Seocheon County and then fled.

Mr. A subsequently escaped to the Seonyudo area of Gunsan City, North Jeolla Province, but was apprehended by police at around 2:50 a.m. on this day.

The victim, Mr. B, was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment and is currently reported to be in stable condition.

It is known that Mr. A and Mr. B were acquainted with each other.

A police official stated, "Mr. A is refusing to testify regarding his motive for the crime," and added, "We plan to apply for an arrest warrant after thoroughly investigating the exact circumstances of the incident."
