Yeoncheon County Accepting Applications for Athlete Opportunity Income... Annual Support of 1.5 Million Won
Yeoncheon County in Gyeonggi Province announced on October 2 that it will be accepting applications for the "Athlete Opportunity Income" program for approximately five weeks, from October 10 to November 14.

View original imageThe "Athlete Opportunity Income" is a support policy for athletes introduced by Gyeonggi Province, aiming to provide fair compensation for the social value created through sports activities. This year, both the eligibility criteria and the scope of support have been significantly expanded.
The support amount is 1.5 million won per person per year. Eligible applicants are athletes aged 19 or older who are registered residents of Yeoncheon County and whose recognized individual income is at or below 120% of the median income for 2025.
The program covers not only active athletes, but also a wide range of sports-related professionals, including community sports instructors, professional sports instructors, and club coaches. Applications can be submitted online through the Gyeonggi Minwon 24 portal or offline at the Culture and Sports Division of Yeoncheon County Office.

Yeoncheon County Governor Kim Deokhyeon stated, "I hope this Athlete Opportunity Income support will help stabilize the livelihoods and improve the working conditions of local athletes," adding, "We will continue to develop various measures to respect the social value of athletes and provide ongoing support in the future."
