SK Chemicals Shares Recycling Technologies at Polymer Society Conference
Nine Solutions for Plastic Resource Circulation and Recycling Presented
SK Chemicals announced on October 2 that it hosted a special session focused on resource circulation and plastic recycling technologies at the Fall Conference of the Korean Polymer Society, held at BEXCO in Busan.
The academic conference, which took place over three days from September 29 to October 1, brought together more than 2,400 experts from academia, industry, and research sectors. A total of over 70 companies and research institutes, as well as 72 universities, participated in the event.

View original imageUnder the theme "A New Paradigm for Plastics: Recyclable, Recycled, and Renewable," SK Chemicals delivered lectures in nine areas, including trends in regulations related to plastic recycling, PET recycling solutions, waste plastic depolymerization (r-BHET), textile-to-textile (T2T) fiber recycling, copolyester development, r-TPA, and PBT.
In particular, SK Chemicals explained that the T2T method, which recycles waste plastics containing complex materials like fibers back into textiles, is technologically challenging. The company presented a comprehensive solution covering everything from raw material processing and depolymerization technologies to material production and application development.
