Over the two days of the festival, a total of about 57,000 visitors attended, demonstrating that the Hoeryong Cultural Festival has firmly established itself as a leading local cultural event.
In addition, the festival invigorated the local economy beyond providing historical and cultural experiences. At the Hoeryong Station commercial district event, 100 new users signed up for the public delivery app and about 500 people participated in the payback program, resulting in increased sales for local businesses.
This event not only re-examined Uijeongbu's historical significance as the birthplace of the Joseon Dynasty but also was organized as a citizen-led festival involving local artists, students, and residents. It created an open space for people of all ages to enjoy, and is being recognized as a model city festival where culture and the economy thrive together.
Based on these achievements, the city is conducting a detailed analysis of the specific economic impact, and the results will be reflected in future festival management strategies.
