At this concert, "Quartet Noi," a group of four young local musicians, performed Beethoven's String Quartet No. 11 in F minor, Op. 95, and Borodin's String Quartet No. 2 in D major.
Beethoven himself described Op. 95 "Serioso" as "not for public performance." The piece was filled with tension due to its fast tempo, sharp rhythms, and rapidly changing keys, and emotionally, it featured an intense and densely woven melody that deeply moved the audience who attended the concert at the beginning of autumn.
Borodin's String Quartet No. 2 in D major, which followed, is well known as a piece he dedicated to his wife for their 20th wedding anniversary. Familiar to many, this piece has long been loved for its rich lyricism and warm melodies.
One audience member shared, "Last summer was filled with extreme and tedious monsoon days, making each day a struggle. But this performance at the beginning of autumn felt like a refreshing tonic that cleared away the heaviness in my heart," adding, "The House Concert has now become a part of my life."
