Borimsa Temple in Jangheung to Host "Bijarim Music Festival" on October 18
Borimsa Temple in Jangheung County, South Jeolla Province, will host the "Nobel Literature City Jangheung, Borimsa Bijarim Music Festival" on October 18. Sponsored by South Jeolla Province and Jangheung County, the event will take place at the thousand-year-old temple, serving as a stage that embraces the region's culture and arts.

View original imageThe music festival was planned to highlight Jangheung's status as the hometown of Han Kang, a Nobel Prize-winning author, and to promote Jangheung's rise as a "Nobel Literature City" nationwide. The crossover group Forestella and Kim Kyungho will perform explosive live sets on stage with a nine-member band.
Jakwoo and the Mellow String Trio will deliver lyrical melodies amid the scenic beauty of the ancient temple. The venue will also feature an exhibition of around 30 works by folk painting artist Jeon Miran, alongside local specialty sales and cultural festival commentary.

This music festival is free of charge, and tickets are available at BBS Gwangju Buddhist Broadcasting, Gwangju Baekseon Cheongwon Memil, Hwasun Seokcheonsa, Jangheung County Office, and Borimsa Temple. Venerable Jeongeung, the head monk of Borimsa Temple, said, "I hope this will be a time when music, Buddhist culture, and the spirit of literature come together as one."
