Gwangsan District in Gwangju Wins Top Prize at National Job Awards for Second Consecutive Year
Gwangsan District in Gwangju announced on October 1 that it has received the top prize for the second consecutive year at the "2025 National Local Government Job Awards" hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor. This award is given based on a comprehensive evaluation of job creation efforts and achievements by local governments across the country.

View original imageUnder the banner of "Sustainable Jobs Desired by Citizens," Gwangsan District implemented 180 projects last year, supporting more than 17,400 jobs. The district achieved 119% of its target of 14,707 jobs for last year and was selected as the top local government in the job posting system category.
Gwangsan District also carried out a citizen allowance job program, providing work experience to 673 people, including women who had interrupted their careers and unemployed citizens. In cooperation with the Corporate Doctor Center, the district secured 1.2 billion won in government subsidies for local businesses and small business owners, and supported new employment through customized consulting.

Mayor Park Byungkyu stated, "The citizens are the driving force behind winning the top prize for two consecutive years.
