The National Library of Korea has released a list of eight books recommended by its librarians ahead of the Chuseok holiday.

In the humanities and arts category, the chosen titles are "Inner Competitiveness That Surpasses AI" and "Kindness Is Character." For social sciences, the recommendations are "The Amazing Koreans" and "Food Overflows, Yet Humans Are Hungry." In the natural sciences category, the selected books are "The Era of Designing Aging Is Coming" and "Studying Flowers."
"We Lend Out Picnics," in the literature category, tells the story of Yeonjae, a protagonist from Seoul who opens a cultural complex named "Picnic" in Chunha City. Through this space, she meets people with diverse backgrounds, sharing comfort and healing as they grow together.
"The Amazing Koreans," in the social sciences category, is a book by a French Korean studies scholar that explores the identity and cultural characteristics of Koreans. As K-culture gains global attention, the book sheds new light on the originality and dynamism of Korean society from a fresh perspective.
"Studying Flowers," in the natural sciences category, examines the ecological characteristics, symbolism, and relationship with humans of flowers commonly encountered in daily life, revealing the delicate beauty of nature and the mysteries of life.
