Gyeongsan City to Host 2025 UNICA Korea International Film Festival... Inspiring and Enlightening Event Anticipated

The 2025 UNICA Korea International Film Festival will be held in Gyeongsan City (Mayor Cho Hyunil) at CGV Gyeongsan (Theater 3) over two days, October 11 and 12, 2025.
UNICA is the international film organization of the UNESCO International Council for Film, Television and Audiovisual Communication (UNESCO C.I.C.T.), established in 1931. It has over 40 member countries, mainly from leading European film nations, and South Korea is the only member from Asia.
Since 2014, UNICA Korea has held the international film festival annually with the approval of the UNICA World Federation, striving to discover and promote beautiful films that can inspire and offer lessons to audiences.
During this year’s festival, a total of 30 films from 20 countries, selected from among 535 entries submitted by member countries of the UNICA World Federation, will be screened for free throughout the festival period.
After the screenings, an awards ceremony will be held, presenting the UNICA Grand Prize, Gold Prize, Silver Prize, Bronze Prize, Jury’s Special Award, and Audience Award.
The jury will be chaired by Miroljub Vukovic, International Commissioner of the National Film Center of Serbia, who has served as a program advisor for renowned international film festivals such as Toronto and Busan. Other jurors include Darcy Paquet, the globally renowned translator of the Academy Award-winning film "Parasite"; Kim Han-young, the producer of the MBC drama "Country Diaries"; director Cho Sang-yoon, who worked on "Midnight Runners" and "Architecture 101"; and Lee Jung-yeop, programmer for the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival.

Yoo Youngui, Chairperson of the Organizing Committee for UNICA Korea, which is hosting this year’s festival, emphasized the significance of the event, stating, "The UNICA Korea International Film Festival is more than just a venue for watching films; it is a festival that reflects on and advances the common good that humanity should pursue."
