The Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced on September 30 that it will actively promote an AI competency enhancement training program for employees of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in response to the era of AI-driven digital transformation.

This program is a joint educational initiative by the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry, supported by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Human Resources Development Service of Korea. In collaboration with global AI leaders such as Microsoft, SK, and KT, the program provides practical training aimed at strengthening the AI skills of SME employees so they can immediately apply these technologies to their work.

Starting with hands-on generative AI training for the manufacturing and construction sectors on October 14, a total of seven AI competency enhancement sessions will be held through the end of the year. Microsoft-certified AI experts will be assigned to lead the training.

Participants will receive free materials, certificates of completion, and lunch. As the program is eligible for reimbursement by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the actual training fee is 25,000 won.

A representative from the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry stated, "The scope of AI technology utilization is expanding not only in manufacturing, construction, and distribution but also across various industries. We believe this training will provide practical support for SMEs in adopting AI and innovating their work processes. We plan to significantly expand AI competency enhancement training to help SMEs improve management efficiency and explore new business opportunities."
