Busan Office of Education to Hold 'Kind Words, Good Writing, Happy Mind' Malgeulmam Contest
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Seokjun) announced that it will hold the 'Kind Words, Good Writing, Happy Mind (Malgeulmam) Contest' for elementary, middle, and high school students, teachers, and citizens, in order to improve language culture and promote a culture of consideration and respect.
Additionally, the Office of Education plans to operate a School Language Culture Improvement Education Week and launch character education campaigns, including broadcasting advertisements for the language purification movement, to encourage all Busan citizens to participate in activities that spread positive language culture.
This contest will be held under the theme "Creating a Happier World Together by Using Kind Words and Good Writing," and submissions will be accepted in five categories: ▲Teacher-Student Shorts ▲Photo Essays ▲Emoticons ▲Personal Stories ▲Classroom Cases and Ideas.
The Teacher-Student Shorts category is open to clubs or classes of elementary, middle, and high school students and teachers, while anyone in Busan can participate in the Photo Essay, Emoticon, and Personal Story categories.
The submission period is from October 13 to November 7. Participants should submit the application form and their work via email. Detailed information can be found on the contest website, and inquiries should be directed to the Malgeulmam Contest coordinator.
The Office of Education will review the submissions and select a total of 39 works for Grand Prize, Excellence, and Encouragement awards in each category. Winners will receive a certificate from the Superintendent and gift certificates worth a total of 8.4 million won.
