Kumho Tire's Gokseong Plant Obtains International Sustainability and Carbon Certification
Achieving 40% Share of Renewable and Recycled Materials by 2030
Kumho Tire announced on September 30 that its Gokseong Plant has obtained the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC PLUS).
ISCC PLUS is an international certification that verifies the reliability and traceability of alternative raw materials, including bio-based and recycled materials. By ensuring traceability and transparency throughout the entire process-from raw material procurement to final product manufacturing and distribution-it supports circular economy and carbon-neutral business models.
Kumho Tire is continuously pursuing research and development of sustainable materials, aiming to transition 40% by 2030 and 100% by 2045. The company has previously succeeded in developing tires that incorporate 80% sustainable materials, including recycled carbon black, scrap steel cord, synthetic rubber based on waste plastics, rice husk silica, and sunflower oil.
