View original imageAccording to the women's golf weekly world rankings announced on September 29 (local time), Sung Yujin earned 1.71 points, jumping 21 spots from 91st place last week. On the previous day, at the Blue Heron Golf Club (par 72) in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province, Sung Yujin secured victory after a fierce battle that went to a fourth playoff hole against Noh Seunghee at the HiteJinro Championship, the final major tournament of the season on the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour, with a total prize fund of 1.5 billion won. This marked her first major championship win, her fourth career victory, and she took home a winner's prize of 270 million won.

Atthaya Thitikul of Thailand and Nelly Korda of the United States held onto the first and second spots, respectively. Lydia Ko of New Zealand moved up to third place, swapping positions with Minjee Lee of Australia, who is now fourth. Among Korean players, only Kim Hyojoo remained in the top 10, ranked ninth. Yoo Hae-ran is 13th, Choi Hyejin is 17th, Ko Jin-young is 21st, Kim Seiyoung is 22nd, Kim Arim is 33rd, Yoo Hyunjoo is 34th, and HiteJinro Championship runner-up Noh Seunghee rose three spots to 35th compared to last week.
