Chuncheon City in Gangwon Province (Mayor Yuk Donghan) will temporarily reduce the usage fees for public property to support small business owners and small and medium-sized enterprises struggling due to the economic downturn, including declining sales and an increase in business closures.
On the 29th, the city held a Public Property Review Committee meeting and decided to lower the basic usage fee rate from 5% to 1%. As a result, up to an 80% reduction is now possible. Applications for the reduction will be accepted until November, and refunds will be processed in December.
Approximately 370 cases are expected to be eligible for the reduction, with the total amount estimated to reach 500 million won.
This measure follows the amendment to the Enforcement Decree of the Public Property and Goods Management Act, and will reduce the usage fees for small business owners and small and medium-sized enterprises using public property from January to December this year. Any amounts already paid will be refunded.
