Gwangju Office of Education Confirms 17 Candidates for Promotion to Grade 5 in 2026
The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education has selected 17 candidates for promotion to Grade 5 positions, effective January 1, 2026.
According to the Office of Education on the 29th, the breakdown by job series includes 14 in educational administration, 2 in library services, and 1 in IT. The selection was finalized through a resolution by the Local Public Officials Personnel Committee, based on a combined score of 50% from the promotion candidate roster and 50% from a competency assessment (15% work performance statement, 15% report, and 20% interview).
The competency assessment consisted of a work performance statement evaluating achievements during the period serving as Grade 6, a report assessing the ability to plan educational policy and propose alternatives, and an interview comprehensively evaluating the qualities and assessments of a middle manager.
To minimize work disruptions and reduce preparation burdens, the Office of Education organized special pre-training sessions on Fridays and weekends, supporting activities such as report writing and one-on-one mock interview practice.
