Seven companies from the Daejeon region will participate in the International Astronautical Congress (IAC), the world's largest space industry event organized by the International Astronautical Federation (IAF).

To expand the scope of Daejeon's space industry, which the city is actively fostering as a future strategic sector, and to establish a bridgehead for local space companies to enter the global market, Daejeon City will participate in the 76th International Astronautical Congress (IAC 2025) held at the International Convention Centre Sydney in Australia from September 29 to October 3, 2025, operating the Korea Pavilion.

This year’s congress will bring together approximately 10,000 participants from 120 countries, with over 600 exhibition booths set up.

The Korea Pavilion is jointly organized by Daejeon City, the Korea Aerospace Administration, the Korea Aerospace Research Institute, and Gyeongnam Province, and will feature 12 leading Korean space companies.

Notably, seven of these are Daejeon-based companies: IOPS (AI satellite mission operations), Perigee Aerospace (small space launch vehicles), INSTECH (metal 3D printing), Hancom InSpace (data convergence solutions), Space Lintec (space medicine platform), SIIIS (high-resolution Earth observation satellite imagery), and Unmanned Exploration Research Institute (lunar exploration rover), all of which will showcase their technologies and achievements for the global market.

In addition, other leading domestic institutions and companies such as Intergravity Technologies, KAIST Satellite Research Center, Satrec Initiative, and Contec will participate with their own booths. On October 1, the Korea Pavilion will host a special "Korea Day" event to highlight the achievements and vision of Korea's space industry and to strengthen exchanges with overseas research institutions and companies.

Daejeon City will dispatch a business delegation led by Son Cheolwoong, Director of the Future Strategic Industry Bureau, to support global networking and business meetings on site.

Director Son Cheolwoong stated, "This International Astronautical Congress will serve as a springboard for Daejeon's space companies to advance into the global market," adding, "The city will spare no effort in providing both administrative and practical support."
