[Today’s New Product] Nongshim Launches "Potato Chips K-Yangnyeom Chicken Flavor"
New Product Launch Set for October 14
Fourth Installment in the Potato Chips "Pochelin Guide" Series
Nongshim announced on September 29 that it will launch a new snack product, "Potato Chips K-Yangnyeom Chicken Flavor," on October 14. This is the fourth installment in the Potato Chips "Pochelin Guide" series.
As K-food continues to gain popularity worldwide, Korean-style yangnyeom chicken, which features savory fried chicken with a sweet and spicy sauce, has been drawing attention. In a 2024 overseas Korean food consumer survey released by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, "Korean-style chicken" was cited as one of the most frequently consumed K-foods in the past year, along with ramen.
To capture the unique sweet and spicy flavor of K-yangnyeom chicken, Nongshim developed a custom seasoning that highlights the rich taste of key ingredients such as gochujang (Korean chili paste), soy sauce, and garlic. Potato Chips K-Yangnyeom Chicken Flavor will be available at retailers and online marketplaces nationwide starting October 14.
Coinciding with the launch of Potato Chips K-Yangnyeom Chicken Flavor, Nongshim will collaborate with the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) for a baseball marketing campaign. During every game of the KBO postseason in October, the player who delivers the game-winning hit will be selected as the "Potato Chips Player of the Day" and will receive a cash prize along with Potato Chips K-Yangnyeom Chicken Flavor.
A Nongshim representative stated, "Potato Chips K-Yangnyeom Chicken Flavor is a snack that combines the rich taste of Korean-style yangnyeom chicken with the crispiness of potato chips," adding, "We plan to introduce potato chips with a variety of menus favored by consumers both in Korea and abroad through our Potato Chips lineup."
