Only 80 kcal per Serving?Just a Quarter of Regular White Rice
Ottogi announced on September 29 that its integrated light food brand, "Light & Joy," has launched two new small-portion products: "Low-Calorie Brown Rice Nurungji Porridge" and "Black Rice Nurungji Porridge."
These new products were developed in a smaller 215g portion, lighter than the previous 285g size, reflecting the recent rise in demand for health management and weight control. They are designed for consumers who wish to reduce meal portions and manage calorie intake, making it easy to enjoy a convenient meal.
The two types of low-calorie Nurungji Porridge are made with high-quality "Suhyangmi" rice (Golden Queen No. 3 variety) produced in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, as well as brown rice and black rice, preserving the unique savory flavor. Each serving contains only 80 kcal. According to food nutrition data from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, this is just a quarter of the calories found in an equivalent serving of regular white rice (about 357 kcal). In addition, the porridge can be prepared in just one minute using a microwave, making it a convenient meal even on busy mornings.
