Shinhan Card Launches 'Splendor Plus' with Enhanced China Services
1.8% Cashback on Spending in China and More
Shinhan Card announced on the 29th that it has launched the 'Shinhan Card Simple Platinum# Splendor Plus Shinhan Card' in collaboration with UnionPay, the Chinese international credit payment brand.
This product builds on the everyday benefits of the existing card and adds a variety of features tailored to China.
First, customers receive 1.8% cashback on amounts spent in mainland China, up to a monthly maximum of 600 yuan (approximately 119,000 won).
Through Splendor Plus, UnionPay's China-specialized service platform, customers can enjoy complimentary airport lounge access, a 50% discount on Shanghai Maglev Train and select city subway fares, and an instant discount of 200 yuan (about 40,000 won) on Marriott hotel stays within mainland China.
On Klook, the global travel and activity booking platform, customers receive a discount coupon of up to 15 dollars (about 21,000 won) when spending 500 yuan (about 99,000 won) or more. Discounts at local fine dining restaurants are also provided.
For domestic and overseas merchants, a basic 1% cashback is offered. An additional 0.7% cashback is given for transactions at everyday merchants such as major supermarkets (Homeplus, Emart, Lotte Mart), public transportation, and automatic payments for mobile phone bills.
A spare change discount service is also available for everyday merchants. When spending 20,000 won or more per transaction at convenience stores, hospitals, pharmacies, major coffee shops, and bakeries, any amount less than 1,000 won is deducted from the payment.
The card also offers cultural activity discounts and premium platinum-grade services. These include up to 3,000 won off online movie ticket bookings and a 50% discount on Seoul Land unlimited ride tickets. Customers can also enjoy one day of free parking at designated parking lots in major downtown areas nationwide, as well as discounts at KTX station parking lots.
Additional benefits include valet parking at Incheon Airport, complimentary coffee and a 10% discount at restaurants inside Incheon Airport, and discounts at luxury hotel restaurants and rooms.
When using the card at fashion and dining merchants located in designated Shinhan Card zones in cities such as Seoul and Busan, 2% of the amount spent is accumulated as MyShinhan Points.
The two companies have prepared a promotional event to celebrate the card launch.
For one month next month, customers who spend 100,000 won or more with this card at domestic and overseas merchants will receive a 22,000 won cashback.
During China's Singles' Day shopping festival, for two months from November to December, customers who spend 100,000 won or more at Chinese online and offline merchants with this card will receive 10% cashback, up to a maximum of 100,000 won.
The annual fee is 27,000 won for the international version (UnionPay) and 22,000 won for the mobile-only international version (UnionPay).
