Trump Condemns Michigan Church Shooting as "Targeted Attack Against Christians"
"Epidemic of Violence in the United States Must End Immediately"
On September 28 (local time), U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the shooting incident in Michigan was a "targeted attack against Christians," and pledged his full support to help clarify the situation.
President Trump made this statement through his social networking service, Truth Social, which he created, saying, "I have been briefed on the horrific shooting incident at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc, Michigan."
He added, "Although the suspect is dead, there is still much to uncover," and asserted, "This case once again appears to be an attack targeting Christians in the United States."
President Trump emphasized, "The Federal Bureau of Investigation will immediately arrive at the scene to lead a federal-level investigation and provide full support to state and local authorities. As always, the Trump administration will continue to keep the public informed of the situation." He also asked, "Please pray for the victims and their families during this time."
Finally, he raised his voice, saying, "The epidemic of violence taking place in our country must end immediately."
Earlier that day, a shooting occurred at a church in Grand Blanc, Michigan, resulting in at least one death and nine injuries.

President Trump's remarks about a targeted attack on Christians appear to be related to the recent killing of Charlie Kirk, the head of Turning Point USA and a prominent conservative youth activist in the United States. Kirk, a devout Christian, contributed to President Trump's victory in last year's presidential election, and his memorial service was attended by key administration figures, including President Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles. The New York Times evaluated this as "a moment that demonstrates just how closely conservative Christians and the Republican Party are aligned in the Trump 2.0 era."
