Gangwon Province Special Self-Governing Province (Governor Kim Jin-tae) has established emergency measures to respond to administrative service disruptions caused by the fire that broke out at the National Information Resources Service Daejeon Center's computer room on September 26.

View original imageThe fire occurred at approximately 8:15 p.m. on the 26th, resulting in disruptions across about 70 systems, including mobile identification and the National Petition Portal.
In response, the province convened a Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters meeting at 5 p.m. on the 27th, presided over by the Deputy Governor for Administrative Affairs. All bureau directors and deputy heads of the 18 cities and counties in the province were summoned to minimize inconvenience to residents ahead of the Chuseok holiday and to proactively prevent further damage.
The meeting focused on discussing the province-level response plan, ensuring the stability of administrative services for residents including civil complaints and welfare, and measures to minimize inconvenience to residents. In particular, the province decided to prioritize the inspection of civil complaint and welfare services that are directly related to residents' daily lives, and to strengthen the emergency response system to minimize inconvenience even in the event of unexpected situations. These are preemptive measures to predict and prepare for potential issues in various public services, including postal and financial services, that may arise in the future.
Gangwon Province Special Self-Governing Province plans to closely cooperate with the 18 cities and counties within the province to promptly address on-site civil complaints and establish a cooperative system for the stable provision of public services.
