Students Achieve $10 Million in Exports... Five Student Startups from Pukyong National University
At the 'Global Tech. Meet-up' in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Secured $3.62 million in overseas orders and $7 million in investment contracts
Companies founded by university students have achieved export sales exceeding 10 million dollars.
Student-founded companies from Pukyong National University (President Bae Sanghoon) secured overseas orders and investment worth a total of 10.62 million dollars at the 1st Global Tech. Meet-up event held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on September 23.
Five student-founded companies affiliated with the Graduate School of Technology Management at Pukyong National University (Dean Lee Woonshik) signed memorandums of understanding (MOUs) for orders totaling 3.62 million dollars with Vietnamese buyers and entered into investment contracts worth 7 million dollars at the event.
The 1st Global Tech. Meet-up event, co-hosted by the Graduate School of Technology Management at Pukyong National University and the RISE Project Group, was held in conjunction with the Vietnam Pioneer Buyer Consultation event organized by the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency. The event was planned as part of the Global Advanced Strategic Industry Technology Management Talent Development Project to support the overseas expansion of student-founded companies and to strengthen their global business capabilities.
Currently, at the Graduate School of Technology Management at Pukyong National University, established business professionals are pursuing master's and doctoral degrees, while aspiring entrepreneurs are starting businesses during their graduate studies, all actively engaged in technology commercialization.
Among them, five companies participated in this event and achieved order and investment results: JK Inc. (customized cosmetics manufacturing machines), Mbas (AI App Platform), Ocean Planet (sunken ship location identification system), Taeyoung Pangard (non-contact power transmission devices), and Tehillim (traditional tea).
Dean Lee Woonshik of the Graduate School of Technology Management personally attended the event with the representatives of the five companies, and these companies are continuing consultations with local buyers, indicating the possibility of additional orders in the future.
Dean Lee Woonshik stated, "This investment attraction demonstrates that our students have proven their innovative capabilities in the global market, and we will continue to support them so they can thrive on the global stage."
