View original imageJangwoo Lee, Mayor of Daejeon, has been appointed as the Honorary Chairman of the Korea Walking Movement Headquarters, a non-profit organization.
On September 23 at 4:00 p.m., an appointment ceremony was held in the mayor’s office, attended by 14 executives including Changki Lee, Chairman of the Korea Walking Movement Headquarters, and Seongman Lim, President of the organization.
During the event, the executives pledged to promote walking initiatives to help create a healthier city in Daejeon.
Mayor Jangwoo Lee stated, “Daejeon is a city with many great places to walk, such as Hanbat Arboretum and the Daejeon Dullegil Trail. I will do my best to enhance citizens’ health by encouraging walking activities.”
Chairman Changki Lee commented, “With Mayor Jangwoo Lee’s appointment as Honorary Chairman, we will further accelerate our efforts to promote the health and happiness of Daejeon citizens through walking campaigns.”
Seongman Lim, President of the organization, also explained the development status of a walking app, emphasizing, “The walking app will make a significant contribution to improving citizens’ health, revitalizing the local economy, and building a healthy community.”

Meanwhile, since its founding in Daejeon in 2012, the Korea Walking Movement Headquarters has held over 30 walking events. On October 25, the organization will host the “Daecheongho 500-ri Trail Walking Festival with Kkumssi Family.”
