Taebaek City Holds Inaugural General Meeting to Establish Disabled Sports Association
Taebaek City in Gangwon Province (Mayor Lee Sangho) announced on the 26th that it held the inaugural general meeting of the Taebaek Disabled Sports Association on the 25th in preparation for the official launch of the association in 2026.

View original imageLast August, the city partially amended the "Taebaek City Sports Promotion Ordinance" to establish regulations supporting the Disabled Sports Association. In February this year, a detailed plan for the establishment of the Taebaek Disabled Sports Association was finalized, followed by two establishment promotion committee meetings held in June and August.
Through this inaugural general meeting, the Taebaek Disabled Sports Association finalized the composition of its executive board and its business plan. The association plans to officially launch in January 2026 after completing the hiring process for staff members.
The mayor of Taebaek will serve as the ex officio president, and together with 20 board members from various fields, plans to promote a range of initiatives through the Taebaek Disabled Sports Association starting in 2026.
