The selected area, Mujang-ri in Hojeo-myeon, is a region that experiences frequent flooding every summer due to the rising water level of the Seomgang River, which causes poor drainage and repeated damage to farmland.
In response, the city plans to focus on upgrading facilities such as drainage pumping stations and waterways to enhance the area's internal drainage capacity, thereby establishing a disaster prevention infrastructure to protect the lives and property of residents.
This improvement project will proceed in stages over four years, from basic and detailed design in 2026 through to completion in 2029.
