Gwangju Youth to Hold Youth Festival on September 26-27
Cheongchun Bit Pocha Square Area
A Variety of Talks, Lectures, and More
The Gwangju City Government announced on September 24 that it will hold a vibrant youth festival for two days, from September 26 to 27, in the Cheongchun Bit Pocha Square area to celebrate 'Gwangju Youth Day' (September 20).
'Gwangju Youth Day' falls on the third Saturday of September and has been held annually since the launch of the 'World Youth Festival' in 2015, commemorating the Gwangju Summer Universiade. This year marks the 11th event. During this period, the city shares information on youth policies and offers performances, cultural experiences, and more.
The theme of this year's Youth Week is 'Our Voice, Now Uploading,' providing a platform for young people to freely express their voices. The main programs for '2025 Gwangju Youth Week' include: ▲ Book & Talk with author Lee Seula, titled 'Book Book Book & Talk' ▲ Youth Talk with director Kang Yunseong, titled 'Scene-naneun Youth Talk' ▲ Silent Disco Party (K-POP ScreaM) ▲ Young Voice, a youth lecture contest ▲ Super Master Singer Song Festival, among others.
The city expects that, with a significant increase in youth-led programs, this will provide valuable experiences for young people who have not previously had the opportunity to perform on a big stage. During the event, there will be a 'Book & Talk' session with author Lee Seula linked to an 'Independent Bookstore Flea Market,' a 'Gwangju Youth Policy Booth' to promote Gwangju's youth policies, and a 'World Nations Promotion Experience Booth' in collaboration with the Gwangju Public Diplomacy Group.
Additionally, ongoing experience programs such as the 'Bit Pocha Arcade' and 'Punching Stamp Tour' will be offered to spark the interest of young people and boost on-site participation. Detailed information about the 2025 Gwangju Youth Week event and its programs can be found on the Gwangju Youth Integrated Platform.
