Daegu Veterans Affairs Office to Host '2025 Veterans Week'
A Variety of Events Including Healing Programs, Employment Support, and Appreciation Activities for Uniformed Personnel
The Daegu Regional Veterans Affairs Office (Director Kim Jongsul) Veterans Support Center will operate the 2025 Veterans Week from September 29 to October 2, 2025.
Since 2012, the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs has designated the second week of October each year as 'Veterans Week' to foster a culture of social gratitude toward veterans and to provide stable employment opportunities.
This year, the period has been moved forward in consideration of the Chuseok holiday schedule.
The Daegu Veterans Support Center has prepared a variety of events to encourage veterans. On the 24th, a 'healing workshop' will be held for veterans and their families, offering them a chance to recharge through a tour of the Andong Gyeongbuk Independence Movement Memorial Hall, experiential activities, and a healing walk.
In addition, the 'Veterans Employment Support Festa' will run from September 29 until the end of October, supporting all stages from taking ID photos to preparing for interviews and achieving employment. Participating veterans will receive congratulatory gifts and support for their job search activities.
Furthermore, certification plaques and plates will be presented to seven companies in the region recognized as 'Veteran-Friendly Employers,' and on the 30th, a certification plaque ceremony will be held at Underrodem Rehabilitation Hospital, which received new certification this year.
Public outreach will also be strengthened. Cup holders printed with the Veterans Week slogan, "Now it's your time to truly shine. To you who served the nation, we offer our wholehearted support," will be produced and distributed, and active promotion will be conducted through electronic displays, subway destination boards, and bus information systems.
On Armed Forces Day, the center will visit Air Force K2 Base to encourage both veterans and uniformed personnel by completing a message puzzle wall and operating a coffee truck for soldiers and staff.
