View original imageJindo County in South Jeolla Province will provide free flu (influenza) vaccinations to all residents until April 30 next year to protect the health of the entire community.
The county will administer vaccinations in phases according to age and eligibility. First, children between 6 months and under 9 years old who require two doses will receive their shots, and starting on the 29th, children aged 9 to 13 and pregnant women will be eligible for vaccination.
Seniors aged 65 and older can receive their vaccinations beginning on the 15th of next month. During this period, they can also receive the COVID-19 vaccine free of charge. Vaccinations are available at public health centers and designated medical institutions nationwide, regardless of residency.
In particular, the county will also support free vaccinations for the general population aged 14 to 64. National merit recipients and vulnerable groups can receive their shots at public health centers, health subcenters, and clinics starting on the 20th of next month, while the general public can do so from the 27th.

An official from the Jindo County Public Health Center explained, "To ensure a healthy winter, it is most effective to get vaccinated between October and December, considering the flu season and the effectiveness of the vaccine," and urged residents not to miss the optimal vaccination period.
