Taebaek City in Gangwon Province (Mayor Sangho Lee) announced on the 23rd that it had signed a multilateral business agreement for "Taebaek Onshore Wind Power Tourism Resource Development Mutual Cooperation" at the Gangwon Tourism Foundation conference room. The agreement was concluded in partnership with the Gangwon Regional Headquarters of the Korea Energy Agency, Korea Climate Change Research Institute, Gangwon Tourism Foundation, and Taebaek Gadoksan Wind Power Co., Ltd.

The project combines sustainable tourism with carbon neutrality and brings together the expertise of each participating institution for a three-pronged collaborative effort.
The signing ceremony was attended by Sangho Lee, Mayor of Taebaek; Kim Joungho, Head of the Gangwon Regional Headquarters of the Korea Energy Agency; Kim Dongil, President of the Korea Climate Change Research Institute; Choi Sunghyun, CEO of the Gangwon Tourism Foundation; and Han Gideok, CEO of Taebaek Gadoksan Wind Power Co., Ltd. Under the agreement, the parties will cooperate in areas such as the creation of wind power facility-linked tourism complexes, the development of experiential energy education programs, and the planning of tourism products specialized for highland regions.
In particular, the Taebaek Gadoksan Wind Power Complex (located at an elevation of 1,200 meters) is a space where pristine nature coexists with cutting-edge energy facilities. Through differentiated tourism content such as highland trekking, wind power energy experience centers, and eco-friendly leisure sports, the complex is expected to attract visitors and generate synergy for revitalizing the local economy.
