Under this agreement, the nine organizations will cooperate in sharing the latest cases of damage, conducting publicity and education, and fostering professional personnel.
The Financial Supervisory Service, together with the police, plans to provide Gyeonggi Provincial Government with information on the latest criminal techniques and cases of damage.
They will share information on voice phishing crime methods that cause significant losses, such as impersonating card delivery or court document delivery, and inducing self-confinement in accommodation facilities.
Gyeonggi Provincial Government plans to quickly disseminate damage prevention alerts to residents via mobile text messages and other means.
The Financial Supervisory Service will support the training of professional instructors to foster experts in damage prevention education in Gyeonggi Province. In June, an employee from the Financial Supervisory Service participated as an instructor in the voice phishing prevention expert training course established by Gyeonggi Provincial Government, teaching about cases of damage and consumer response strategies.
In the financial sector, including Shinhan Financial Group, support will be provided for residents who participate in damage prevention education to enroll in voice phishing protection insurance.
